The Princess Academies Overview

The Princess Academies

The Princess Academies is designed as an online community for the support of mothers who have created Princess Academy Circles in their homes. We are dedicated to helping women discover and develop the Lost Arts of Godly Womanhood. Mothers are then equipped to pass these lost arts to their daughters. A practical way of gaining and passing on the lost arts is through the Hope Chest Journey: A Call to Beauty and Grace.

What is the Hope Chest Journey: A Call to Beauty and Grace?

The Hope Chest Journey: A Call to Beauty and Grace is a young girl's journey to adulthood, shared with her mother. Back when hope chests were a part of the American culture, young girls learned skills and filled their hope chests with items created and gathered, in preparation for their adult life and future home. Young girls gained these skills, along with knowledge and support from their mothers, and through a community of grandmothers, sisters, aunts, cousins, and other women in their lives. Girls learned from these women and by attending quilting bees, charity bazaars, and other activities in the community.

In the 21st century, our Hope Chest Journey includes developing the Lost Arts of Godly Womanhood. We created Princess Academy Circles to build a supportive community for girls to thrive in, and for the support of mothers. The circles provide inspiration and friends for their journey. The Lost Arts Series helps mothers and daughters develop the Lost Arts of Godly Womanhood. The Classic Character Unit Studies were originally designed to support Princess Academy Circles. There we use classics to teach principles of beauty and grace and to develop the lost arts.

We have developed Christian, classics-based educational resources to assist in this journey. See the sections below.
